Awards season is in full swing, and what better way to celebrate it than to talk about some of the movie-related news that’s got me all atwitter this week?
1. Breathe In Trailer
The movie stars Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, and Amy Ryan, all of whom are sort of fabulous. The movie doesn’t exactly look uplifting, but it does look compelling: domestic unrest, how people change and grow apart, the yearning for youth and what could have been. It’s by the director of Like Crazy, so you know I’m there.
2. Most Anticipated Movies of 2014
Metacritic has a great roundup of some of the most anticipated films of 2014 to look out for. I love me a list, and I love me some pop culture, so you know I’m making my own list based on the titles here. (Metacritic)
3. Walk of Shame Trailer
Look, I love Elizabeth Banks a lot. I’m not such a huge fan of James Marsden, and I’d be lying if I said this looks like a great movie, but that doesn’t mean I won’t see it. I just sat through Austenland the other day, and that was one of the LITERAL WORST MOVIES I’VE EVER SEEN. But that’s how deep my love for an actor goes. By the way, have you seen the photoshop of horrors they’ve done to Banks on the poster for this movie?
4. Adult World Trailer
Emma Roberts has really grown on me this year, and so I’ll definitely be checking out this little indie film, which debuts in theaters and VOD in mid-February. Roberts plays a young woman living at home while attending grad school and hopes to attract the attention of an older, alcoholic professor played by John Cusack. She takes a job at a sex shop to make some money. This is the kind of film that is right up my alley. I’m trailer crazy this week!
5. The Pretty One Trailer
Zoe Kazan, Ron Livingston, and Jake Johnson? Are you kidding me? This one looks kind of awesome: a girl’s identical twin dies, and she assumes her identity. Whatever, it’s probably ludicrous, but I’ll still totally be down to watch this one.
